Karate is a form of self-defense originating in Japan. Karate probably
first went from Japan to America before it spread further across the globe.
There are three major forms of karate and these are kihon which is the
basic moves, Kumite which is a form of sparring with an 'enemy' and kata which

aspects of defense and requires a good use of flexibility along with muscular
endurance.
Karate training will include the physical strategy of good body
coordination and psychological training will use good cognitive behavior. It
needs plenty of practice to perform the necessary skills correctly, but with
regular devotion to this practice, it is possible to master these necessary
skills. This sport is a good method to achieve complete fitness as it
incorporates most elements needed such as aerobic and anaerobic, stretching and
a full workout, all of which will help with strength and conditioning. It will
help to develop a good and prompt sense of reaction
Karate ranks are recognized by belt colors with white for beginners and
black being the highest. It is quite possible to practice karate alone, using a
good instructor in may be a more effective method of achieving a good level. A
person well trained in karate will have no worries about having to defend
themselves, whatever their gender, their age or their size, as it will give
them the ability to use their skills to do so.
Children will very quickly learn self-discipline if they are encouraged
to attend a karate school and will also learn how to be responsible for their
kit and also their actions, plus it will teach them respect for themselves and
others.
Another benefit of karate is a good sense of reaction which helps
enormously with the ability to self-defend. The main stresses in karate are the
techniques of combat which are punching, elbow and knee strikes and kicking as
well as the more recognized open hand forms. The overall message that accompanies
karate practice is peace and not violence, along with respect, self-development
and emotional stability, all elements that can be taken from the sport and
transferred to everyday life.
